Nippon Classic Car Rally

So I was up to no good searching YouTube for the latest and greatest in Japanese car related vids and I started coming across some videos entitled NCCR (Nippon Classic Car Rally) and they were chuck full of Classic and not so Classic Sports Cars and some how I once again stumbled across another great Japanese car event that I haven't seen or heard about any where else.  And now you get to enjoy it as well.

RAUH-Welt Begriff's Spearmint Rhino

Yes it's a Franchise Strip Club, and we even have one here in Boise, ID, but I'm not blogging about that Spearmint Rhino.  No I'm here to introduce another wicked creation from RAUH-Welt Begriff called Spearmint Rhino.  What once was a pink 993 cabriolet has been transformed into this stunning matte white RWB93R cabriolet.  The first Porsche 993 cabriolet model featuring the new super wide body kit that was made famous by the Silver Royal Montegobay car.

2012 Tokyo Auto Salon -- The Cars

Oh yeah here is the meat and potatoes of the Tokyo Auto Salon the multitude of vehicles and equipment on hand to drool over or scratch your head over.  No really you can guarantee that there will be a handful of WTF items on display to make you scratch your head as well as some just out of this world awesome items too.  This year is actually the 30th Anniversary of the Tokyo Auto Salon with NAPAC (Nippon Auto Parts Aftermarket Committee) held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan. And while I was stuck here at home like many people who wish they could go I spent the better part of the weekend hunting down pictures and videos of what was going on.  And believe me when I tell you that I've only scratched the surface of what is out there with what I'm going to be showing you.

2012 Tokyo Auto Salon -- The ladies

With the completion of the 30th annual Tokyo Auto Salon held Jan 13-15 over with it's time to toss up some goodies. While the Tokyo Auto Salon is a showcase of the latest automotive technology to come out of the land of the rising sun a good number of the people are only there for one thing and one thing only.  The lovely ladies.  And you'll find a lot of them at the Tokyo Auto Salon and in this part of my coverage you'll get an eye full of them.

BS Shirasaki's Sunburst 964

Often times while I'm on Facebook and conversation goes to what other cool Porsche Tuners or car builds there are out there in the land of the Rising Sun I'm always quick to point out what I think is one of the best self built Porsches out there.  Tucked away in a little body shop called BS Shirasaki you'll find a colorful widebody 964 that looks like it could easily be a RWB build but it isn't.  This 964 is completely hand built by the owner in his own shop and he never seems to stop tinkering with it, improving upon it every time there is a new post.  And I'm always eagerly awaiting those new posts.

Project Jetta: Part 9

Well part 8 wasn't that long ago and this is sort of a continuation of that part steaming from the oil leak mess coming out of the valve cover.  Basically a lot of cleaning of the engine bay some new paint and a couple new parts round out this the 9th part of my little Project Jetta.  Also the last of 2011 even though this sort of carried over into the first week of the new year.

Liberty Walk

Unless you've been living under the proverbial internet rock you have seen the two latest videos from Maiham Media and have caught your self drooling over the hot pink Murcielago or the boso Skylines that have come out of the very interesting shop of Liberty Walk.   Once again Maiham Media did a stellar job on the videos and everyone is falling over themselves posting them on their blogs and sharing them on every social media site available but there's just something missing from it all.  Like, the rest of the story.

Speed Matsuri -- Facebook

So I decide that one of the things I'm going to do for this blog in 2012 is make a leap to Facebook (like every other automotive blog out there) to help expand the Speed Matsuri brand.  I've got shirts, I'll be working on Stickers in February and now Speed Matsuri has a Facebook page.  All I need are the readers and some gullible company to buy my blog....wait...you didn't just read that.  Forget I wrote that.  I wouldn't sell out and spend the millions moving to Japan, buying an RWB car and starting over...well OK I would but I don't see that happening so I guess I'll just have to keep doing the blog.

Happy New Year 2012

Well I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year celebration last night (I got the joy of working at the hotel and dealing with idiot party goers, go me) anyways lets all bid a not so fond farewell to 2011 and look forward to a better 2012 (even it's supposed to be the end of the world).  I'm not saying that automotively speaking it was a bad year but yeah the rest of it just kinda sucked.
