Welcome to the biography page, I'm Greg Myers the creator of the Festival of Speed (Speed Matsuri) blog.  I started this blog a little over two years ago to give my automotive coverage on my original blog (Hillbilly Otaku) a better chance at being taken seriously.  It also gave me the space to include more coverage of other Motorsports and car related events around the world like covering the Japanese Super GT series, Japanese Porsche Tuner RAUH-Welt Begriff and of course Porsche vehicles in general.  Oh and the Race Queens can't forget the lovely ladies of Super GT who honestly keep this blog alive.

Now a little bit about myself.  I grew up pretty much in love with the Porsche 911 Turbo and that love became my passion and interest in cars, racing and wanting to write or shoot for an automotive magazine.  That's what I wanted to grow up to be when I was in High School and why I went to college for Media Studies.  I graduated college in 2002 with a BA in Media Studies and a wild idea to start my own photography business.  But lets just say things never panned out well and that idea went straight to the back burner, but my passion hadn't died.

That passion has stayed with me all this time but has taken some slight changes in direction over time.  This blog has actually given me that chance to be a pseudo magazine writer that I wanted to be in High School.  I'm still very much in love with the Porsche 911 Turbo and thanks to finding RWB it has renewed my interest in older air-cooled wide body 911s.  That's why I keep working hard to make this a fun, interesting as well as informative blog about local Motorsports events, Super GT and above all else awesome Porsche 911 cars whether they are awesome cars from Japan or factory fresh from Germany.  I'll keep at it and don't worry I wont forget those lovely Race Queens either.
